Child protection in armed conflicts (UNCHILD)

Description: The course is delivered in 16 educational hours, in the course of four days, which allows students to have an understanding of the general aspects of the child protection in the framework of a peace mission. The knowledge acquired is also relevant for application in our country, in various situations.

Objectives:

  • Prepare and deploy peace forces which have been trained in children’s rights and child protection, which has become an increasingly important element in UN Peacekeeping Missions.
  • Protect minors from the effects of conflict and as a result, form peace forces for the protection of children’s rights, established as a key priority for the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) and its policy on child protection.

Language: Course delivered in Spanish, materials in English.

Directed to: Commissioned and non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces and Police, and civilians, national and foreign, appointed by their corresponding institutions.
