1982 present MFO Egypt Agreed between Egypt and Israel and sponsored by the US in the Sinai Peninsula.
2010 present MONUSCO Democratic Republic of the Congo UNSCR 1925 (1 July 2010) determined MONUC would become the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO). Set in the DRC with the aim of cooperating with peacebuilding, after the Second Congo War.
2004 present MINUSTAH Haiti Set in Haiti to stabilize the country, calm and disarm irregular armed groups, to promote free and informed elections and to encourage institutional and economic growth.
2004 present ONUCI Ivory Coast UNSCR 1528 (27 February 2004) established the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (ONUCI, for its French acronym), substituting MINUCI, as of 4 April. ONUCI Mandate includes supporting the peace process linked to the Linas-Marcoussis Agreement; aiding the National Reconciliation Government to apply the national Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Program (DDR) of combatants, with special attention to the specific needs of women and children; as well as monitoring the ceasefire and movement of armed groups.
1993 present UNHQ United States (NY) Our representation in the UN Headquarters is in the form of an Ambassador, the presiding Officer of the Permanent Mission and the presence of active Officers who work in several offices. We should also consider the work of other nationals, hired by the Organization.
